Day 10 - Ventura - a day of rest

31 July 2016

There's not too much to tell you all today.

We got up late, ate breakfast (I only had fruit, I really can't keep up with this level of food consumption), and got ready to spend time in the pool. We grabbed a few sunbeds and settled in for the day. It was hot today, and it was so nice to feel the sun on my face.  Oliver had a great time in the pool, jumping in, back flips and pencil jumps.

Andrew and Oliver had some lunch, and I again decided to give it a miss. Although I did have a strawberry daiquiri.

We changed to a new room - closer to the ocean, so much happier now.

Oliver wanted to play Pokemon Go, so I agreed to take him for a walk along the seafront to see what we could find. The wifi dipped in and out, and we ended up walking into town, and two hours later got a call from Andrew asking where we were! Funny!

Oliver and I looked in some of the restaurants and booked an Italian called Cafe Fiori for dinner.

Back for a swim and then for only the second time this holiday, we got dressed up to go out.

We walked the five minutes into town and had a lovely meal. Prosecco for me, pale ale for Andrew and cranberry juice for the boy. Then I had the most amazing pasta - lobster and leek ravioli with a saffron sauce, Andrew had steak and mashed potato, and Oli had.....pizza!

There was a table of around ten most beautiful girls in there, and they must have been famous, because everyone was pointing and staring. Oliver said he thought it was Cheryl Cole - we are not so sure.

We walked through the town again, it has lots of art deco buildings, some unused, and it has such a 50s vibe to it. And the residents drive the most amazing cars.

We are going to watch a film in bed now. Enjoy some pictures of Ventura on me.
